Hidden Hinge Waterfall

Happy M.O.M. Day.

Todays project I found on Snapquide " How to Create a Hidden Hinge Waterfall Mini Album Page" by Danielle Copley. Here is the link.

So I started by looking over her direction and started cutting out my mats.
These are 4-1/2" wide x 4" hi.

Next I scored the tops of each of them
Followed by the cutting of the corners at a 45 degree angle.

Next I marked my paper 1/2" from the top

I placed one of the matts on the paper and lined it up so it was 3/4" from both sides

Then  I thought, why am I doing this ? I do not plan on cutting each opening with an exacto knife as Danielle Copley did, I plan on using my cutting board.

So I placed my paper on my cutting board at  the 1/2" mark and cut a 4-1/2"  slit, as that is the length of my matt.

I moved the paper across my cutting board 1/2" each time and cut 4-1/2" long
until I had the amount of slits that I needed.

I started inserting each mat to be sure they fit properly.

This is how it looks on the front

I then glued each mat in place, starting with the bottom one.

Danielle Copley suggested an angled one. Well of course I had to try that.

I am fairly good with fractions so I didn't bother to make any pencil lines, etc. I just placed my paper on my cutting board 1/2" from the top and started my cut 1/4" from the left side of the paper.
I cut a 4-1/2" slit, as this is my mat size in width.

Then moved the paper to the 1" mark and started my cut from the 1/2" mark.
Again cutting the slit at 4-1/2". I continued to move the paper over 1/2" on my board and started cutting 1/4" from my previous cut.

This is how it looked from the back.

Now all you have to do is glue or tape them in place. On to the next one.
Hope you give this a try because it really is quick and easy and
it will give your layout or mini album a clean look.

Happy Scrapping !!!
