Paper Pumpkin Ideas 9-17-18

Good Morning and Happy M.O.M. Day.

How many ways are there to make a paper pumpkin for Halloween, Thanksgiving or for Autumn decorations???  A lot!!!!  Here are jut a few of my favorites.

All of these (except one) have the directions posted on the website. The one that does not have directions is easy enough for you to figure out. Below I'll show you the one I decided to make.

It's Always Autumn Website

My Paper Paradise Website   You will need to scroll down the page to locate this one. Or use her Search window and type in Double. It is under her posting from October 2011. "Double, double toil and trouble"

Brit + Co Website  There are a lot of craft ideas for children on this website. For this project, scroll down to # 14 Paper Pumpkins.

Court's Crafts Website There are no directions for making these but I'm sure you can figure these out. Very similar to Brit + Co listed above except they have punched the edge of the paper before  folding.

I usually make everything that I post, to be sure all they instructions are correct and easy to follow but in this case I have not made all of these yet.  Here is the one that I did create using some of the instructions from the Minted website.   I did not use her templates. I cut out 18 - 3" dia. circles on my circuit and folded them in half.

Then I cut the ends off to give it a pumpkin shape.

Then I started glueing the pieces together. If they did not match up perfectly, I just went back later and cut them to match. Beside pumpkins aren't perfect either. I also used distressed ink on each of the edges.
Do not glue closed until you have your stem.

I walked out my back door and cut one off of my orange tree. Then before I glued the two end pieces together I glued ( with hot glue ) the stem to the inside of the pumpkin.
Then glued the two ends together

Again using my Cricut I cut out a couple of leaves and glued them to the pumpkin.

And there you have my paper pumpkin!!

A big Thank You to all the people who have created and/or designed paper pumpkins!! I know there are many more of them and one day I'll find them all.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrapping !!!!

Pyramid Box 9/10/18

Happy M.O.M. Day

What is M.O.M. Day????  It's not what you think ! It is Modus Operandi Monday. Modus Operandi is a particular way or method of doing something, especially one that is characteristic or well-established. I'm sure you have heard on any of the police or investigative TV programs the term his/her MO was... M O Modus Operandi.  I wanted a term that would indicate a method or technique for my Monday postings  and that is why it is called M.O.M. Day.

This week I am showing you these cut little pyramid shaped candy holders. These are great for party favors for any type of party, just decorate accordingly. Since Halloween is around the corner I decide to naturally go with a Halloween theme.  If you do not get many Trick or Treaters, this would be a great treat for the few that do go to your house.

Of course, they would be awesome decorated for Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter. In fact these could be used for any holiday.

I discover these on Pinterest (naturally) at this website   Lines Across

Take a moment to vist her site and you will see just how easy it is to make these little pyramids.

First we need to open up the link to her  Box Template and print it on your 8-1/2" x 11" plain card stock paper or designer paper. I increased the scale to 100%. My printer was showing that is was scaled to  93%.
Here are my two printed ones. Now cut out the shape along the curved lines.

This is what they will look like after cutting.

Now you will want to score all the straight lines.

Fold  the centers to form the square shape at the bottom.

Fold each of the curved sections inward.

This will be the result after all the fold have been folded.

Now for the decorating part. I printed one pyramid shape template on to plain copy paper and cut out one of the  side pieces. After cutting off the curved sections, I made a template for cutting out my designer paper.

I opened up the pyramid shape and laid it flat on my worktable and glued the pieces on.

Next, I needed to punch the holes in the top portion of each side. I tried punching the holes just through the side section, then punched the holes with the flaps folded inward and it really didn't make a difference in the way the pyramid closed.
However, it did look better with just the hole punched in the side and not the flaps.

Now it's time to add your ribbon and candy.

Now wasn't the easy ???

Thank you for taking a look !!

Christmas is coming 9/2/18

Good Morning and happy M.O.M. Day to you.

Don't you just hate that title for this blog post. CHRISTMAS is COMING!!!   Well it is and  I am usually so wrapped up in stuff during Oct., Nov., that I forget just how close Christmas is. Well not this year. I am going to start early. I used to do all my Christmas shopping throughout the year, then for some reason I stopped. Oh yea, WORK got in my way!!!  Well time to go back to what I did
20 - 30 years ago and keep my sanity!!!

So in keeping with my new strategy I am presenting to you this absolutely  cute idea for a gift for a co-worker or the people in one of your get together groups.

This was posted back in Jan. 2012 so you may have seen it but may
have forgotten it. So lets bring it back!!

Her instruction are perfect and so are her pictures, so there is no reason for me to duplicate her information.  I will say that based on her instruction I was able to make one of these, less the designer paper, in 5 minutes. Wow, super simple and fast. Just what you need when making a large quantity of this type of gift.

So when you are ready head on over to  Cabo's Craft Corner   and follow her instruction. You can't go wrong. In the meantime I am working on enlarging the size to accommodate a larger bottle. Like the small champagne or sparkling apple cider bottles. This is good for one of the small bottle of
hard liquor (Whiskey, Rum, Vodka ), or a bottle of nail polish.
As soon as I have the dimensions worked out, for the larger one, I'll get those posted.
Update: Larger one has not worked so far. UGGGGG!!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrapping!!!
